Sharing science
Science is global and we believe in equal opportunities for every child.
This year, we connected scientists from EMBL with pupils from Bodija, Ibadan, in Nigeria. Explore this website to find out more about what the pupils wrote and how 77 eager scientists answered their questions!
- Report of the InitiativeYou can now read the report on the initiative here. 97% of the 75 scientists said they would take part in a similar initiative in the future and 46% said this experience rekindled their passion for science 🙂
- Letters are on their way!We could not be more excited that despited the current pandemic, we were able to send our 75 letters to Nigeria, and look forward to hearing from the students once they manage to collect them 🙂
- Silver linings in a pandemic: how science outreach helped me during WFHMeet one of our scientist pen pals, Simone Heber, who tells us about her exchange with her pen pal Kenneth.
What People Say
These children raised some ideas that might not have been possible without our visit, which immensely helped to imbibe the love of science and research right from their tender age.
